Think of a pod as a replacement for your tent with added facilities, where comfort will help you overcome the Icelandic uncertain weather.

The Camping Pods are the newest type of accommodation at Fossatún - a sleeping bag accommodation. They provide a warm and comfortable stay to our guests. Guests need to bring everything they would bring if they were camping: sleeping bags, pots and pans, etc; but there is an added luxury of space, warmth, dryness, electricity and a good bed to sleep in.

The pod is divided into a sleeping area and a lounge. The lounge has a table, 2 chairs and a bench. In the sleeping are there is a bed for two person with special mattress of fabric that breathes, is water resistant and bacteria free. We have added three pods/cottages that are more insulated and are now available through the Icelandic winter months.

Inside there are also electrical radiators, lights, sockets and Wi-Fi available. Showers and toilets are open 24/7 in the same building as the hot tubs (open from 16-23), a few meters away from the pods. Guests have also access to a Cooking Cabin, which includes a fridge, microwave, stove, tea kettle, pans, and a dining area.

Had an absolutely wonderful, relaxing and contemplative time cuddled up cozy in Pod #1 at Steinar’s lovely establishment. The Fossatun property is gorgeous, serene and welcoming. We loved exploring the grounds, taking in the stunning views, and unwinding with some reflective time and a glass of wine enjoyed slowly next to the peaceful rush of the river cascades. Steinar and his crew were perfect hosts, friendly, welcoming and exceedingly hospitable. We loved the delicious dinner of traditional Icelandic comfort food at the restaurant and a fantastic breakfast buffet to fuel us up for a day of exploring. We definitely hope to return to Iceland soon and will certainly make a point to spend a good chunk of our nights in one of the Fossatun Pods.

Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo!!!
